Meranti
Meranti belongs to Shorea, is how we call in Indonesia, another well-known name is Lauan. These woods are sometimes called Philippine Mahogany as well. Meranti has hard wood texture and clear sound, which is used as substitute of Mahogany. Most of Meranti are used to make Top, Back, and Side of introductory guitar. F310 of Yamaha and F600 both use this material as Back and Side .
