Spruce Spruce grows in high latitude and cold environment. Light, soft, straight wood grain, light yellow, and not easy to be darken. It features as light, keen, and mature sound. Also, medium frequency is more abundant than common Sitka Spruce. It takes time to warm up, but the sound of guitar will perform better after playing longer and longer. Engelman Spruce generally uses in intermediate and high level top of guitar.
Mahogany is hard but light, abrasion resistance, non-deformable, and distinctive of its low frequency sound. However, it is lack of fancy high-pitch sound. Most are made into Top, Back, Side, and Neck.
